Morocco is one of the few countries outside of Europe that you can visit on a tiny budget.
Wicked Trips to Morocco can encompass anything you could ever want: beautiful beaches, incredible surf, camel treks across Moroccan Sahara desert, wondrous waterfalls and colourful city with a vast range of entertainment, shopping and sights. You could be sunbathing or skiing or both at the same time; the choice is yours.
Wicked Trips most popular trip to date is Immersion Morocco which combines the highlights of this incredible country in the space of just 7 nights: with a 2 day 1 night Sahara camel trek and Ouzoud Cascades trip, two of the most amazing sights and experiences in Morocco are bought together into one break.
Usually, when visiting such a different culture, we must travel far and cope with jet lag whilst trying to cram in a new language to our already fatigued brain. Not in Morocco! There is no time difference between Morocco and the UK and whilst in Marrakech, you will be hard pressed to find someone that does not speak English!
There are several things that are good to know before traveling to Morocco and specifically Marrakech:
1. As Morocco is a Muslim country, try to avoid wearing clothes that expose too much skin. If you travel during the hot Summer months I recommend wearing linen trousers or cut off trousers and linen tops as they cover you up and keep you cool, without sun burn and causing offence!
2. When you walk through the Big Square in Marrakech, remember that nothing is free. If someone offers you a ‘present’ or something ‘for free’ do not accept it as they will expect a present back from you in a form of payment.
3. Take a lot of small change with you. Most things like taxis or merely asking someone for directions, comes with a tip.
4. When shopping in the Souks, remember that you will be expected to haggle. Start by taking 75% or more off the asking price and bargain from there.
5. Always take a copy of the address of your hotel or riad with you so that you can ask someone the way back if you get lost. Make sure it is written in both English and Arabic.
To avoid getting lost, take a taxi. They are usually very cheap, just make sure the driver puts the meter on before leaving!
Morocco is an exciting place to visit if you know where to go and what to do; that's why Wicked Trips offers you such an exciting opportunity to make the most of this incredible country; everything is arranged for you and you are guaranteed to have an amazing time!
